Princess Aoife - Gemma Carney

Gemma has been associated with the show Tara as far back as 1989, when as a young girl she danced in the 6 week run at the National Irish Theatre. Her mother, Celine Hession was the most famous female Irish dancer of her era. So it is little wonder that Gemma was a world champion at the age of 11 years. She has also acquired a host of musical degrees, having studied with the Royal Academy of Music, London.

She was appointed assistant dance captain for the American Riverdance company in 2000 and continues to work with this hugely successful show in a variety of roles.

She also finds time to run a highly successful dance and arts school in Galway.

Fionn - Fergal O'Dea

Fergal began his dancing career when he was only 4 years old. Through the years of his dancing education and afterwards as a professional dancer, he has won 4 provincial titles, as well as numerous awards at All Ireland competitions. He is also a talented musician and has won several All Ireland awards for his accordion playing.

He was one of the star-dancers in "Magic of the Dance" (1999) and danced the parts of both Romantic and Devil leads throughout this tour. He appeared in "Dancing Feet" and has worked with various musicians from the "Lord of the Dance" show.

Curionn - Padraic Delaney

Padraic is a graduate of the Samuel Beckett Centre for Theatre Studies in Trinity College, Dublin.

He most recently played Hamlet at the Cork Opera House. Other roles include Oberon in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Civic Theatre, Aidan in "The Leaving for Barnstorm" T.C., Laborie in "the Hollow in the Sand", (Blue Raincoat), Cathal in "Epiphony" for the Project Theatre / Semper Fi, alexander in "the Madman and the Nun", (Crypt Arts Centre), The Actor in "The Yellow Room" with Daghdha Dance Co. and John Paul in "The Parking Space" as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival 2003.

Films include Duncan ni "An Cuainin" for TG4 and Tom in "Starfish" which is released this summer.

Cormac, High King - Seán Costello

Seán plays King Cormac and is a native of Ballinrobe Co. Mayo. He now lives in his adopted city of Galway.

At a very early age Seán was gaining recognition as a ‘voice of the future’ when he won many Scór na nóg awards. He has appeared all over Ireland as a guest with many musical societies and has won the National AIMS award for the ‘Best Voice’ category on no less than five occasions.

Having appeared many times on national radio and television, it’s no surprise that Seán is a regular solo concert performer at The National Concert Hall Dublin. Just last year in 2003, Seán played the title roll in the European premier of ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel’ having previously played the title roll in the World Premier of ‘Johnny Angel’.

Seán now concentrates most of his efforts on his own touring show and hopes to follow up his debut CD ‘This is the Moment’ with a new release later this year.
